The Genus Chrysosporium: A Potential Producer of Natural Products

Chrysosporium, a genus of ascomycete fungi in the family Onygenaceae, has ability to produce abundant new bioactive natural products, providing structural foundation drug development. This review includes sources, distribution, biological activities and characteristics compounds isolated from Chrysosporium 1984 2021. The results show that 66% are products. More than half Chrysosporium-isolated marine-derived Chrysosporium. chemical structures Chrysosporium-derived have different skeletons, which concentrated alkaloids, polyketides, lactones. Eighty percent products been found various activities, including cytotoxic, antibacterial, antifungal enzyme-inhibitory activities. These demonstrate potential for producing secondary metabolites, can be used as basis developing drugs.
